SUMMARY
The 7th International Baltic Sea Choir Competition had ten choirs from eight countries of the world participating – mixed choirs: “Imusicapella” from the Philippines; The Chamber choir of Oñati from Spain; “Moraviachor” from the Czech Republic; Carl Johan Chamber Choir from Sweden; “Ahjo ensemble” from Finland; Latvian Academy of Culture’s mixed choir “Sola” and Latvian University mixed choir “Juventus” as well as female choirs “Viva” from Lithuania, “Vino ensemble” from Finland and Estonian National Opera Male Choir.
The author of the Compulsory piece “Eye Has Not Seen” – Latvian composer Georgs Pelēcis.
The performance of the choirs was evaluated by a professional international jury consisting of Māris Sirmais (Latvia), Orla Flanagan (Ireland), Årne Saluveer (Estonia); Christo Burger (South Africa) and Artūrs Dambrauskas (Lithuania).
RESULTS
97,75 points and the Winner of 7th International Baltic Sea Choir Competition who got Jurmala City GRAND PRIX trophy and monetary prize of 3500 Eur is mixed choir IMUSICAPELLA / Philippines. Conductor Tristan Caliston Ignacio
