Artistic Director Jānis Ozols
The founder and artistic director of the International Baltic Sea Choir Competition, one of Latvia’s most visible and charismatic conductors, chief conductor of the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration. In 2000 he founded the mixed choir “Maska”, which is currently one of the most distinguished amateur choirs in Latvia. Jānis has won “best conductor” awards in several international choir competitions and is often invited to participate in competition juries. His musical vision often differs from the usual, Jānis is open to new and creative ideas and experiments.

Volunteers
An integral part of this competition is our excellent team of volunteers, which always includes representatives from the choirs “Maska” and “Pa saulei” led by Jānis Ozols and Marta Ozola. Our volunteers perfectly understand the specifics of the choral industry, as they are choral singers themselves with international competition experience. Our volunteers are the most sincere choir guides, stage managers and perform other very important functions in the organisation of the competition. We are very happy and grateful to have them!
