SUMMARY
In the 3rd International Baltic Sea Choir Competition 8 choirs from 7 countries participated: female choir AINO-KUORO from Finland, mixed choir PARAHYANGAN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY CHOIR from Indonesia, mixed choir MOTETTUKOR HALLGRIMSKIRKJU from Iceland, mixed choirs AIDIJA and CANTATE DOMINO from Lithuania, female choir ELLERI TUTARLASTEKOOR from Estonia, mixed choir POLIFONICA from Belarus, as well as the MIXED CHOIR OF THE RIGAS DOMA CHOIR SCHOOL from Latvia.
The compulsory piece “The Drop” was composed by Andris Dzenītis.
Grand Prix winner of the 3rd International Baltic Sea Choir Competition was RIGA DOMA CHOIR SCHOOL MIXED CHOIR from Latvia (conductor Jurģis Cābulis).
Chairman of the jury was Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and jury members were Bernie Sherlock (Ireland), Pärt Uusberg (Estonia), Vaclovas Augustinas (Lithuania) and dr. Milan Kolena (Slovakia).
Special guest of the Closing concert – instrumental band DAGAMBA.
