The Tallinn Technical University Academic Female Choir

The Tallinn Technical University Academic Female Choir or Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli Akadeemiline Naiskoor was founded in 1951 by Alma Tamm, who was also the choir’s first conductor. The heart of the choir members lies in promoting high-quality choral music and advancing the traditions of Estonian choral singing.
As an A-category choir, the female choir has received numerous accolades both at home and abroad from various competitions and festivals. With a wide-ranging repertoire, it has won the hearts of enthusiasts of classical choral music, contemporary music, and lighter genres alike through its performances. The choir has a strong desire not only to elevate the musical level of its singers but also to preserve and promote Estonian choral singing traditions and values. In the spring of 2023, the female choir participated in a prestigious choral competition in Cork, Ireland, where it achieved an award-winning third place. In the autumn of 2024, the choir participates in a Callella Choir Competition in Spain and achived an award-winning second place and Silver diploma.
The female choir is a member of the Estonian Women’s Choir Society. In 2016, the Tallinn Technical
University Academic Female Choir was named Choir of the Year.
The artistic team of the choir includes Edmar Tuul and Karin Tuul, along with Eleri-Kristel Kuimet. The
voice trainers are Karin Salumäe and Kalev Keeroja.
