“The New Bana Choir” is a professional choral ensemble founded in 2022 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The creation of the ensemble is associated with the New Bana Monastery Complex in Khashuri and was carried out with the blessing of the Archbishop of the Surami and Khashuri Diocese, Bishop Simeon.

The choir is led by Artistic Director Lasha Gelashvili. Under his professional guidance, the ensemble maintains an active musical presence and is dedicated to the research, performance, and promotion of Georgian choral art, with a special focus on traditional polyphonic music, including both hymns and folk repertoire. At the same time, the choir actively works on classical choral works by Georgian composers, further enriching its artistic direction.

The New Bana Choir regularly participates in cultural and church events, as well as festivals. Its repertoire combines sacred music, Georgian folk songs, and classical choral compositions, performed with exceptional quality and artistic care. The ensemble’s work is grounded in the revival and dignified presentation of Georgian musical heritage, giving it a distinctive place in the modern choral landscape. Through its activities, the choir aims to introduce audiences in Georgia and beyond to the rich, beautiful, and often undiscovered treasures of Georgian folk song.
