Male choir HOMME
The nationwide male choir Homme, founded in 2023, is a unique ensemble whose roots run deep in Estonia’s rich choral tradition. The choir has grown out of former singers of the boys’ choir Kalev and other boys’ choirs—men who continue to carry their love of music with them.
The male choir Homme brings together singers from across Estonia, offering them the opportunity to meet and rehearse approximately once a month. Their aim is to preserve the traditions of Estonian choral music while enriching them with fresh and contemporary interpretations. Every rehearsal and concert is the result of deep dedication and musical excellence.
In 2025, the choir participated in the international choral competition Victoria Krakow in Kraków, where they were awarded a Gold Diploma in two categories (Classical and Folklore). In 2026, the choir performed Thomas Jennefelt’s work Villarosa Sequences for the first time in Estonia, together with Chamber Choir Sireen and Chamber Choir of Estonia Society.
The choir is conducted by the renowned conductor Kuldar Schüts, whose extensive experience and musical vision help the ensemble reach new artistic heights. Kuldar has been awarded with “Conductor of the Year 2024” by Estonian Choral Association
