Carl Johan Chamber Choir

Carl Johan Chamber Choir, formerly known as Härlanda Chamber Choir, started in 2007 and is led by conductor David Molin. The choir is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and consists of singers aged 20-40 with long choir experience, who desire to perform choral music at the highest level.

The choir is known for its excellent resonance, warm inviting sound and presence during their performances. They have a broad repertoire ranging from modern, newly written compositions to famous classics. Many of the singers are also instrumentalists and soloists, which is utilised to add instruments or solos to concerts. Conductor David Molin has many years of experience working with choirs and as a musician, and always sets high ambitions for his choirs. Carl Johan Chamber Choir has entered many international competitions, with several acknowledgements and awards. The most recent competitions the choir has participated in are Tolosa (2022), Marktoberdorf (2019) and Jūrmala (2017). The last time the choir competed in Jūrmala, they placed 3rd.

The christmas album “A Bright Star Shineth” received brilliant reviews and has half a million streams on Spotify. Another record is scheduled to be recorded and released in 2025. In the fall of 2024 the choir will be performing in Swedish Television’s best known program for classical music.
